3 months. That's how long it took to "blog" on almost a daily basis, and to keep on efforting to get ranked for my chosen keywords.

However, when I did my usual check for keywords, I noticed that my blog appeared in Google, but not the website.

MSN and Yahoo already had the blog ranked well (top 20), but to see this verification in Google was truly a revelation.

Here's the story.

I launched my blog on February 10th, 2005 and have been pretty consistent about adding to it at least 4 times a week. Then on May 16, 2005, (just about three months) the blog appears in the SERPs. (At the time of this writing the blog was #9.)

On May 18th, the site emerged from the sandbox and currently ranks #5!
(Notice how this update came on the day of the release of the new Star Wars movie - maybe so that the Google engineers could enjoy the film?)

Google AdWords blog launched.

I think Google realized that MSN's new search was greatly helped by the feedback it got from it's blog, so now Google is onboard with a blog as well.

Although not related at all to SEO, I was able to watch Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and I was absolutely thrilled with the movie. For me it was worth sitting through the other two prequals in order to get to this payoff.

If you haven't helped contribute to George Lucas's billionaire estate, you must do so soon!
